My name is Rejane, having lived most of
my life in Brazil, I have seen many children living on the
streets, turning to a life of drugs and living in poverty and
ignorance. My older daughter, Pryscilla, had a passion to
return to Brazil and minister to the "invisible" children -
the ones no one seems to care about or protect.
In
October of 2005, Pryscilla had a dream; she was flying with
God, holding his hand, while she was doing her discipleship
training school at Youth with A Mission. In her dream, she
could see the outline map of Brazil and S. America. God
pointed out to her the kids with big bellies, no shirts,
living in such poverty. At the time of the dream, I didn’t
think about what we would be called to do for them. At the
time, it just seemed like a call for Pryscilla.
On
January 4, 2006, Pryscilla died suddenly in a car accident.
After she died, God constantly brought her dream back to my
heart and I knew that I needed to do something with her dream;
to not let the dream die along with her. I started to
pray, and ask God for direction.
I
began to ask God to bring the team together, to give me a
sign, to show me what to do - what is the next step. The
burning was so strong that I knew we had to do something. As I
began to share this vision with women, (Lynn Reece, Debbie
Henderson, Connie Mancini & Bayly Poole) I saw God put the
passion in their hearts to also do something for these
children and families. God began to develop this group of
women who are the core group of this ministry.
Our first decision was to
find a name for the organization - The consensus of the group
was that it be God’s dream because God gave it originally to
Pryscilla through her dream - thus developed the name God’s Dream Ministries. These women have
a passion to make a difference in the lives of those who are
less fortunate and to share God’s love and resources through
God’s Dream Ministries..
